Emphasis is placed on enabling the student to identify and use various hand tools and materials used in each of the trade areas. Field trips will be used when possible to give the student a close-up look at jobs under construction. The course is designed to help the student decide which area to specialize in. Job appropriate clothing, as determined by the student organization, is required, Participation in SkillsUSA student organization activities is required. This course covers the competencies needed to take one or more associated certification test through NCCER.
