About the Program
Students will receive advanced instruction and experiences in the areas of layout and design, framing, estimating, purchasing, planning, installing, and project management. Topics will range from residential through commercial construction. An emphasis will be placed on entrepreneurship and construction site management using curriculum developed by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Student internship experiences are an option for this course. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) is included in this course, and will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations. Skills USA, the co-curricular student organization, offers opportunities in leadership, community, and competitive events.
