In this one year program, students will specialize in all aspects of carpentry, including: understanding how to utilize carpentry specific tools and materials; reading blueprints; cutting and shaping stock, installing flooring, walls, ceilings, and roofs; and effective communication techniques on a construction site. During the program, students will take part in actual projects for various schools within the county, such as building sheds and benches. Students will be instructed utilizing the NCCER Apprenticeship post-secondary education curriculum. Students will also be provided with the opportunity to obtain CPR/First Aid and OSHA 10 certification. Students may have the opportunity to take part in a work-based learning experience during their senior year, after completion of this program.
