The Carpentry program provides high school students with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge about the field of carpentry. Studies encompass blueprint reading, cost estimating, and house construction, both exterior and interior. This program emphasizes safe handling of hand and power tools. Students are provided experiences to practice and develop techniques that will be required in the trade. Applications of mathematics, science, and communication skills are incorporated into the program. Many related trades will also be taught to broaden studentsu2019 understanding and abilities, including, painting, roofing, drywall finishing, sales, and independent contracting.
