Civil Engineering & Architecture
About the Program
Anacostia High School offers the Engineering & Architecture pathway in which students will dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects. They will develop skills in building and site design and development. In the capstone course, they will work both individually and in teams to identify an issue and then research, design, and test a solution, ultimately presenting their solution to a panel of engineers. In addition to project-based learning coursework and the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, Anacostia CTE students will hear from guest speakers, participate in field trips to industry sites, and complete paid internships. Internship Opportunities: Accenture, Pepco, ART Engineering, LLC Certifications: Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) in Revit Architecture, Autodesk Certified User (ACU) in AutoCAD
