The Civil Engineering department offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in civil engineering. To earn the degree, students must complete graduate coursework, pass a comprehensive examination, conduct a program of original research in civil engineering, and write and defend a doctoral dissertation on the research. The Ph.D. degree contains at least 53 graduate credit hours, a comprehensive exam, and the dissertation.
