Drafting II
About the Program
Building on competencies taught in Drafting I, students are taught the theory and the manipulative skills necessary to produce and complete accurate drawings based on the ideas and sketches of engineers, architects, and designers. Students focus on completing a set of residence plans designed by the student that meet standard building codes. Students focus on performing architectural drafting and design operations, using manual drafting techniques and Computer Aided Drafting and Design Software (CADD). They also explore careers in drafting and take the AutoCAD credentialing exam. Workplace readiness skills of teamwork, communication, problem solving, positive work ethic and integrity are emphasized throughout the course. Leadership is taught through activities in the professional student organization, Skills USA.
