About the Program
Students will further their electrical studies to learn about layout, planning, and installation of wiring systems in commercial facilities. An introduction to programmable logic controls (PLC) and its associated applications will be provided with the most current Allen Bradley controls. Students will also get the chance to lead other students in installing wiring in a residential house. Upon completion of this course students should be able to install and wire all aspects of a residential house to include ordering and managing materials and equipment. Students should also have a knowledge of PLCs, solar power and other related electrical specialty fields. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) is included in this course, and will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations. Skills USA, the co-curricular student organization, offers opportunities in leadership, community, and competitive events.
