Electrical Apprenticeship Program
About the Program
The Green Trades DC Program recruits and trains District residents ages 18 and over to prepare for careers as journey-level electricians to help the District meet its solar, energy efficiency, and sustainability goals. The program operates through a partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26 chapter. A 48-month electrical apprenticeship program: Wages start at $24+/hour. Allows residents to start their journey to becoming journey-level electricians. Apprentices begin receiving full benefits (i.e., health, dental, vision, etc.) for themselves and their families. Applicants must complete the IBEW Apprenticeship Test, apply BEFORE March 31st and if selected, interview with the granteeu2019s panel. - Selection is subject to the granteeu2019s panel recommendation The deadline for applications is March 31, 2024
