The Green Trades DC Program recruits and trains District residents ages 18 and over to prepare for careers as journey-level electricians to help the District meet its solar, energy efficiency, and sustainability goals. The program operates through a partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26 chapter. A 12-month electrical pre-apprenticeship program: Wages start at $24+/hour. Residents are able to learn critical skills through on-the-job training and classroom learning prior to applying for the apprenticeship program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis
