Mechanical Engineering Technology
About the Program
The Mechanical Engineering Technology program focuses on practical applications of engineering methods, materials, machinery and manpower necessary to support engineering activities. Mechanics and thermodynamics form the core of the program. Mechanics examines the forces acting on machines and their tendency to cause failure. Thermodynamics covers energy conversion principles as applied to engines, refrigeration and other systems. The mechanical engineering technology graduates provide expertise to transform engineering design into products and services. Graduates are employed in their profession to engage in problem-solving activities using applied methods.
